Israeli occupation tears down Palestinian-owned house in Lod

Lod (In Palestine Today)- The Israeli municipality at dawn Monday displaced a Palestinian family after demolishing their home in Lod City in 1948 occupied Palestine (Israel) at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

Quds Press quoted eyewitnesses as saying that police forces cordoned off the area around the house before bulldozers embarked on destroying it.

The homeowner had already demolished part of the house in an attempt to convince the Israeli municipality to backtrack on its measure, but the latter insisted on removing it in its entirety.

“The demolition policy in Lod is ongoing without stopping. The authorities do not want to grant the [Arab] Lod residents building permits and carry out demolitions without providing alternatives,” member of the Lod municipality Mohamed Abu Shariqi said.
