Turkish President Recep Erdogan said that Jerusalem is not the cause of Muslims living in Palestine only but it is the cause of the entire Islamic world, with a population of 1.8 billion people.
He stated that his country will continue its struggle for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
This came in a message that Erdogan sent on Sunday to the participants in the opening of the new building of the Parliamentarians for Jerusalem association in Istanbul, in conjunction with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
Erdogan said, “We seek in all events to defend the issue of Jerusalem and we are working with all our strength to put an end to the policies of occupation, injustice and genocide against our Palestinian brothers.”
“We will continue our struggle for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and unified Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, within the 1967 borders, based on United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative”, he stressed.
Erdogan pointed out that the actions, meetings and conferences organized by the Parliamentarians for Jerusalem association are the voice of the just cause of the Palestinian people at the global level.
