Israeli occupation detains ten Palestinians overnight from occupied West Bank

Occupied West Bank (In Palestine Today)- Israeli occupation forces detained at least eight Palestinians from various areas of the occupied West Bank Monday overnight, according to security sources.

They confirmed that Israeli forces rounded up six Palestinians after ransacking their families’ houses in multiple raids across Ramallah and al-Bireh district.

Israeli military jeeps stormed Beitunia city, west of Ramallah, where the forces detained one of the six detainees.

They also detained another after breaking into and searching his family’s house in Birzeit town, north of the city.

The forcee also barged their way into Kafr Ni‘ma village, west of Ramallah, where they rounded up three others.

They also conducted a raid in Beit Rima town, northwest of the city, resulting in the detention of a university student.

In Bethlehem district, Israeli forcee barged their way into Dheisha refugee camp, where they searched several houses and rounded up two brothers.

In Hebron district, the Israeli forces detained a Palestinian from the city.

They also re-arrested a former prisoner from Dura town, south of the city, as he attempted to cross Huwara military checkpoint, south of Nablus.

On Sunday evening, witnesses confirmed that Israeli occupation forces detained three boys after stopping them at the entrance of Beit Ijza village, north of Jerusalem.

They also detained another after stopping him at the entrance of Biddu town, northwest of Jerusalem.

Also in Jerusalem district, Israeli police rounded up a Palestinian boy after assaulting him in Silwan neighborhood.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

According to Palestinian estimates, there are nearly 4,800 Palestinians in Israeli prisons, including 41 women, 170 children, and around 380 people held under Israel’s administrative detention policy, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial.
