Occupied Palestine(In Palestine Today)- Israeli authorities on Wednesday isolated the injured prisoner, Haitham Ibrahim Bilal, 32, from the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, in the south of the West Bank, in the cells of Gilboa detention center, under harsh and worrying conditions, Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee said.
The commission stated in a report issued on Wednesday that the prisoner, Bilal, was shot by the Israeli army during the May of the last year near the Qalandia military checkpoint and he stayed for a while inside the intensive care unit of the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, after which he was transferred to the Ramla hospital, and recently he was transferred to Gilboa detention center.
As a result of Bilal’s injury, he suffered a fracture in the pelvis and an external stool bag was placed for him, and his condition requires special medical follow-up.
After Bilal was transferred to Gilboa Detention Center, he refused entry to public departments, as they are not prepared to receive sick cases like his condition, and as punishment for him, the detention administration forced him into isolation rooms without electrical tools, cut off from the outside world. Besides, he was deprived of the cantina and from communicating with his family.
The Committee held the Israeli authorities fully responsible for Bilal’s life, noting that with the recent isolation conditions, the matter has become more difficult for the prisoner with clear concern about his health condition.
It demanded the necessity to intensify legal efforts, end his isolation, and transfer him to an appropriate department to his harsh health condition.
