Palestinians bar Israeli settlers from bulldozing land in West Bank

Occupied West Bank (In Palestine Today)- Palestinian citizens at dawn Wednesday fended off a horde of extremist Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers and prevented them from bulldozing swaths of privately owned land in Ni’lin village, west of Ramallah.

Local activist Murad Amira said that a horde of settlers escorted by army soldiers infiltrated at dawn with a bulldozer into the northern area of the village in order to resume bulldozing land for the purpose of building a road for a new settlement outpost.

Amira explained that the settlers had started two days ago to bulldoze Palestinian lands in the villages of Deir Qaddis and Ni’lin in order to build a two-kilometer road in the area.

He added that the settlers withdrew after local resident confronted them and forced them to leave.

He pointed out that the same settlers already tried to annex vast tracts of land to build a road and an outpost for themselves in the area.
