Occupied Jerusalem (In Palestine Today)- So-called ‘Temple Mount groups’ said there has been a 60 per cent increase in the number of Jewish Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound over the past three months, Israel’s Channel 7 reported.
The Palestinian Information Centre reported the TV station saying some 9,804 Jewish Israelis have stormed the month over the past three months, compared to 6,133 over the same period last year.
Scores of Jewish Israelis storm the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate everyday, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, and carry out provocative tours, as well as performing Talmudic prayers in the eastern parts of it.
Al-Aqsa represents the world’s third-holiest site for Muslims, while Jews refer to the area as the “Temple Mount”, claiming it was the site of two Jewish temples in ancient times.
