Occupied Jerusalem (In Palestine Today)- Clashes continued between Jerusalemite youths and the Israeli occupation forces during yesterday evening, Saturday, and last night, amidst the occupation forces firing bullets and sound bombs at Bab al-Amud in Jerusalem.
Jerusalemite and press sources reported that clashes erupted last night between the Israeli occupation forces and young men in Bab al-Amud. The police summoned cavalry teams to chase after the Jerusalemites and expel them from the place.
They added that the Israeli occupation forces abused the young men by searching for some and arresting others after beating them.
The frequency of attacks by the occupation and its settlers in the Bab al-Amud area has increased in recent days, coinciding with the excavation work in the Yusufiya cemetery and the high rate of settlers’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Sources pointed out that the occupation police arrested three children during yesterday’s confrontations, while others were wounded.
Last September witnessed a significant increase in crimes and violations by the Israeli occupation and settlers against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
The periodic report issued by the Hamas media office in the West Bank documented that the occupation committed 2,694 violations last September, which increased by 40% compared to September of the previous year 2020.
