“Lights off, unbearable food, but at least I’ve quit smoking” Zubeidi describes his detention conditions

Occupied Palestine (In Palestine Today)- The recaptured Palestinian freedom fighter Zakaria Zubeidi, who climbed his freedom for days from Israel’s high-security Gilboa prison last September, submitted a petition today during a trial session at Nazareth court against the decision to place him in solitary confinement, following the “Freedom Tunnel” Operation.

“I am moving from one isolation to another, no canteen, no electricity, nothing. The best thing that I quit smoking. I don’t see the light nor know the time. Besides, the food is terrible.” Zubeidi describes his detention conditions in front of the Nazareth court.

Israeli occupation forces attacked the Palestinian prisoners Zakaria Al-Zubaidi and Yaqoub Qadri during their trial session today to prevent them from raising the victory sign in front of the media.

According to the complaint petition, Al-Zubaydi was denied access to a blanket, proper food, and was denied the purchase of cleaning items, too.

The Israeli occupation also deprived Al-Zubaydi of visiting parents or meeting with other prisoners, living in solitary confinement. Also, denying access to any means of communication with the outside world.

Zakaria is one of the six Palestinian prisoners who were re-arrested by Israeli occupation forces. After they liberated themselves from the Israeli prison of Gilboa.

The six freedom fighters were subjected to the harshest forms of torture.

After four days of liberation, the Israeli occupier forces re-arrested both prisoners Al-Zubaidi and Al-Arda in Nazareth. While re-arresting Kamji and Enfeiat after 13 in Jenin.
