‘Israel’ prevent families of Palestinian prisoners of visiting their sons

Occupied Palestine (In Palestine Today)- Israeli occupation authorities yesterday prevented Palestinian families from visiting family members in prisons under claims of being unvaccinated, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC) said in a statement.

The PPC’s statement came after dozens of families reported not being able to visit their imprisoned relatives in Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank. Prison authorities said the family member had not yet received the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine and therefore could not enter the prison.

According to the PPC, the Israeli occupation authorities asked the families to prove that they had received the third dose.

“The families did not have any information about this measure,” the PPC said. “The Israeli occupation has been using family visitations as a form of systematic torture against the families and their sons in prisons.”

The PPC also said that the Israeli occupation “always uses fake pretexts to prevent the visitations, mostly security claims.”

Israel occupation holds at least 4,650 Palestinians inside its prisons, the PPC said.
